About me
Hi! I'm Reto Frei, Internet guy.
I first connected to the internet in 1994. I used Notepad as an HTML editor and Netscape 1.0 as a browser.
In 1996, Christian Fawer and I founded Escapenet, one of the early web agencies. One of our first websites was tamagotchi.ch, to sell Tamagotchis online. By 2014, the agency had around 800 customers and 10 employees. It was time for a change, so I sold the agency.
Since 2004, I have been operating the largest independent local directory in the city of Zurich, zuri.net, and help my clients do the right thing on the internet as part of my web service. Additionally, I operate gurulist.net, a city guide for Bangkok.
Nerd
I have studied electronics and work as an IT project manager.
Computers, networks, and the internet have fascinated me from the start, and I've been involved since the early days. My first web server ran on a Compaq server with Microsoft IIS and Windows NT. Us nerds love this stuff.
